This is the story of a couple who energetically embarked on various tourism-related ventures, first in France, then in the United States for about fifteen years. Until 1998, when Carine and Roland decided to sell everything to return to France and change their lives, to find an activity linked to the land that made sense to them.

In Cadenet, a village in the southern Luberon, they fell in love with a vineyard on the banks of a small stream, the Laval, and the sleepy bastide that watches over the place. Soon they were planting thousands of olive trees and training in olive-growing techniques.

Olive growers in the Luberon since 1998, producers of an award-winning olive oil, Carine and Roland Coupat have also been millers since 2014. 

In October 2014, the brand-new BASTIDE DU LAVAL olive oil mill opened its doors, for the mastery of making its own oil, but also for outside contributors wishing to entrust their olives to the mill for oil extraction. 

Today, the estate's 4,000 olive trees, views of the Luberon mountains and 19th-century bastide provide the perfect backdrop for an educational and enjoyable approach to Provence's "green gold".

Three self-catering cottages with enclosed garden and private pool are also available for nature-seeking tourists.
